Fonofest IV has officially come to a conclusion.
The section “Photos” is added with masterpieces from Reinis Saliņš, Justīne Kalēja and Jānis Vīksna.
We gratefully thank all the photographers, masters of video (by the way, their work will soon appear in this homepage).
Thanks to all the volunteers, who helped to make Fonofest just the way you saw it. Thanks to bands, dj’s and people, who showed themselves by doing different kinds of sports.
We also thank to supporters and the greatest gratitude to You – all the visitors, who came and enjoyed these two unforgettable summer days.
See you in a year – at the same place!

The ramp has been ridden at Fonofest IV
Red Marlboro, Jack Daniel, spicy beans and skateboard – these are some of the things, which helped to ride a ramp in this festival. Surrounded by metallically organized chaos, cowboys rode the ramp with 5-0 fake slides, melon grabs, blunt reverts and fs ollie airs.
Sheriff Ansis from Saldus got a great prize from Jack’s and he was also nominated as the best dressed skater.
The most fearless rider Mauglis really rode the ramp till the end, starting from the arrival and until the damp of the night.

Herbal Harvest congratulates those who won the prizes and those who did not, because the time has been spent equally well. Thanks to the riders who participated and to Ūpis – with his help Fonofest’s ramp was made in the first place.
P.S. I hope you all know that tobacco and alcohol is really harmful to your beautiful bodies and conscientious minds.
Edža un Niknie & Transleiteris in Shark DJ tent
The stars of Radio Lāga Edža and Niknie and Transleiteris will perform in the Shark DJ tent in the 28th (the second day) at around 20.00. More information about the artists is in the section SHARK DJ.
DJ Uldis Rudaks at Fonofest.
DJ Uldis Rudaks will guarantee a great party in the evening of the 27th after the last band (interesting folk/punk veterans SPICHKI from Lithuania). He will perform on the Main Stage. He says about himself:" For a longer time he is music's journalist, recently - an author of a historically autobiographical book "Rokupācija", always - being an enjoyer of DJ and rock'n'roll."
During the festival you will have an opportunity to play paintball with different show elements. They will be specially made for Fonofest. There will also be specially made missions for the event. Everyone will be able to play paintball, but only 20 people at the same time will be allowed to be in the area. Of course, you will have a possibility to get prizes from Cēsu Peintbola Parks.

Ride a ramp at Fonofest
During the Fonofest Happy Herbal Harvest will offer to beat summery mini ramp.
The maddest skater will get prizes and ”Declaration” from Happy Herbal Harvest.
Everybody is asked to dress in cowboy style and ride a ramp with skateboard.
Official event is expected to be in the evening of the first day. The maddest skater will get a new Happy Harvest skateboard but the best-looking rider will get a Herbal surprise.

Waterdown at Fonofest
We are happy to announce that awsome Waterdown form Germany will headline main stage on 27th of June. You can find more information on theyr web site and under "Bands " section.
Imants Daksis at Fonofest
Great news: Imants Daksis has afiirmed that he will play at Fonofest. He is a very interesting Latvian bard. He will perform on Saturday's afternoon. More information about the singer is available in the section "Bands" and in his home page.

Good and bad news!
We are truly sorry to inform you that for technical reasons Los Nipples had to decline their participation in Fonofest (they also have cancelled the Eastern Europe tour). The band and we are really sorry, but you know ”shit happens”. There is a possibility that Los Nipples will play at Fonofest next year.
The good news is that instead of Los Nipples the evening of the 27th of June will be made great by the performance of the Finnish band Deep Insight. You can look for more information in the section ”Bands”.
In a few days there will be an information added in the
section ”Programme”. There will be some information about the times and the bands.

The spring has come and Fonofest has a new, pleasant announcement.
In the section BANDS you can see some new groups added with whom you will have a possibility to meet at Fonofest.
This year on the main stage you will have an opportunity to see:

Endrive (Finland),
Enhet (Latvia),

The Small Stage
We offer bands to play on the small stage at Fonofest (27.06-28.06). On this stage bands do not get paid for their performance but it is a great opportunity to prove your band by performing to a big audience (last year more than 3000 people were there at Fonofest). Of course, the small stage will be well equipped (good sound and lights).
There is a rumour that this year the small stage won’t be so small at all.

The great German band "DEADLOCK" has confirmed that they will perform at Fonofest 2008.
DEADLOCK follow an innovative, highly unique and creative way of bringing the world their newest opus, ..Wolves... For those who are unfamiliar, DEADLOCK play a mixture of technical, melodic metal with the harsh atmospheric nature of today..s modern sounds. Combine that with extreme metal and a good dose of gothic darkness, outstanding keyboard and female vocal thrills and what you have is a masterpiece in the making. Since the band..s 2005 Lifeforce Records debut ..Earth.Revolt,.. a lot has happened to further their sound and character. After more than six years of brilliant collaborations with vocalist Sabine Weniger (previously in a part-time capacity), 2006 saw her angelic voice and presence become a permanent fixture in the DEADLOCK member ranks. The full time addition of Sabine helped to invigorate and strengthen the band..s outlook, creatively and musically. Having emerged from the hard rock/metal scene of Sweden, BLINDSIDE's first two releases in the U.S.- "Blindside" and "A Thought Crushed My Mind"- established the band as blistering rock powerhouse that combines both introspective lyrics with an intense, yet melodic sound. These two albums, along with relentless touring, catapulted the band into the hard rock mainstream.
Having released all their albums in the US and being signed on the labels of Tooth and Nail, Elektra and Solid State Records along the way, Blindside have toured with Hoobastank and perfomed on the famous Conan O'Brien Show. Blindside are featured on P.O.D.'s album "Satellite" and also as the Swedish table tennis team in the music video "Boom" of their patronizing friends.

We are at the moment proceeding all the applications for Fonofest 3- "thank you" goes to all those many bands that showed the interest in taking part at the upcoming festival! The decision making will take some time, so be patient. We'll let you know the results asap!
The final line-up may be ready around May, but already today we are proud to announce that dEFDUMp from Luxemburg along with The Pope and Squalora from the US will make you sweat in the hot July nights!!!
