Danscotheek is an AUDIO/VIDEO project that has been able to show itself not only in Latvia, but also in other countries. At Fonofest Danscotheek will be presented by the main creators in Latvia KRIS HOVEL and GUS OSTROVSKY. These artists will play specially made audio and video set, which you will be able to hear only at Fonofest.

Edža and Niknie
Edža Niknais started his intimate musician's career (with a bit of a zoologist's touch) in the spring of 2005. It was the day when a song "Lauztās Lūpas" was created in the atmosphere of boozing. I do not know where but a psychologically unbalanced rapper Shalle joined. He wanted to cooperate and after a few while the song was heard in "radio Lāga". But the cooperation with Shalle did not end. Together we made stunners like "Rīta Stienis" and "Grūdējzvirbulis". These songs left people wondering how is it possible to run around a river and how a sparrow can plunge in an earthworm.

Now Edža Niknais does not make his music on his own, he has a band and that is why the name of it has been changed to Edža and Niknie! Their lyrics and accompaniment are positive and funny.

Althoug this project is quite new; it gathers more and more fans. The mission is to show Latvian listeners the deepest essence of super hits. Youngsters create masterpieces and spread them with a help of the internet. Transleiteris has shown the audience many Latvian translated super hits from artists like Britney Spears, Limp Bizkit, Lil John, Modern Talking and others. How he says: "We take a song and literally translate it, so people could hear what is buried under the pretty English version".
